Wax

IMG_1691.JPG

Wax is perhaps the most well-known material in West African textiles and clothing. Sold in African markets since the turn of the century, wax, unlike batik or bogolan, is not a traditional cloth, but an industrial cotton printed fabric developed by the Dutch. It was over time that the African print became popular.

We love the bright colors and unusual patterns of our wax that go so well with our handbags. All our wax is 100% cotton; most is made in Ghana.
